Available
Meals on Wheels
MEALS ON WHEELS is a LCS
community support program. It promotes the health and well-being of homebound and
sometimes isolated individuals who, for health reasons, are unable to
prepare meals for themselves. Nutritious and
wholesome meals are prepared and delivered within the Town of Lakeshore and parts of
Tecumseh by dedicated volunteers.
This program offers two
areas for volunteer participation,
1- KITCHEN HELP WANTED: Volunteers
come to assist our cook in preparing the meals. Volunteer hours are
between 9:00
am to 11:30 am, Monday thru Friday. Students
this is agreat way
to designate your hours during school breaks or summer holidays!
2- DRIVER OR ASSISTANTS WANTED: This
program is looking for caring individuals that are available weekdays,
between 10:30
am to 12:30 pm to
help deliver meals.

Visiting & Security Reassurance
FRIENDLY
VISITING & SECURITY REASSURANCE..
Carefully selected volunteers offer their time to be
spent in conversation, sharing and reading with someone who may not be able
to go out and could use a friendly visit from time to time or receive a
call daily just to check-in to make sure things are all right.
CAP (Community Access Program)
LCS
provides free computer access to our community. Volunteer your expertise to teach
interested persons to surf
the net or basic computer
knowledge.
This
is a great way to meet new people and give back to your community.
These are very rewarding volunteer positions as you will help bring joy and
human contact to many who otherwise would not experience this. The
coordinators will provide the necessary training and work around your
schedule and availability.
